Laikipia
NAIROBI - LAIKIPIA 1.5H (AIR)
Journey to Laikipia, a vast and beautiful region in central Kenya, where rolling plains stretch toward the Great Rift Valley and the remote north. Set beneath the gaze of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest mountain, this striking landscape offers one of the most diverse safari environments in the country.
Wildlife and Conservation - Laikipia is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five — elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino — as well as several endangered species such as Grevy’s zebra and African wild dog. The region is known for its award-winning conservation programs, where private and community conservancies work together to protect wildlife while supporting local communities.
Vast Wilderness - This is a place of wide open spaces and untouched wilderness, where fewer visitors and vast private conservancies allow for a more personal safari experience. The varied habitats support a rich diversity of animals and birdlife, making every drive different from the last.
On Foot in the Bush - Laikipia offers exceptional opportunities to explore the landscape on foot. Guided walking safaris allow you to track animal footprints, identify birds and plants, and learn about traditional uses of medicinal species, giving a deeper understanding of the wilderness than can be experienced from a vehicle.
Activities Include
Morning and evening game drives; campfires; community visit; bush walks
samburu
LAIKIPIA - SAMBURU 1.5H (AIR)
Samburu National Reserve and Kalama Conservancy lie on the edge of Kenya’s vast arid north, where the Ewaso Nyiro River draws wildlife from across the surrounding dry country. This striking landscape of palm groves, riverine forest, rugged hills, and open bushland offers some of the most dramatic scenery in northern Kenya.
Wildlife of the North - The region is known for its large elephant herds and strong predator populations, including lion, leopard, and cheetah, along with giraffe, zebra, buffalo, and a wide variety of antelope. Samburu and Kalama are also the best places to see the “Northern Special Five” Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx, species rarely found elsewhere in Kenya.
Conservation and Community - Kalama Conservancy is part of one of Kenya’s great conservation success stories, where community-run conservancies protect wildlife while supporting local livelihoods. Time here offers opportunities to learn about conservation efforts and to experience the culture of the Samburu people, who have lived alongside wildlife in this landscape for generations.
Activities Include
Morning and evening game drives; walking safaris; Maasai cultural experience; night game drive; birdwatching; bush breakfast/dinner.
meru
SAMBURU - MERU 4.5H (ROAD)

Wildlife and Wilderness - Meru is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, and both black and white rhino. The park’s rivers and wetlands attract hippo, crocodile, and abundant birdlife, while open grasslands and woodland support giraffe, zebra, and numerous antelope species.
Remote and Untouched - Once little visited, Meru has become one of Kenya’s great conservation success stories, with thriving wildlife populations and vast areas of unspoiled wilderness. The mix of riverine forest, open savanna, and volcanic hills creates a dramatic and varied landscape, offering a safari experience that feels truly wild and secluded.
