Great migration

Nairobi | Maasai Mara

Between July and October, the Maasai Mara becomes the stage for one of nature’s most dramatic events, as millions of wildebeest converge on the Mara River and brave its perilous crossings as they follow ancient grazing routes across the plains.

Big cats are drawn to this show, prowling the savannas and creating thrilling, action-filled sightings!

MAASAI MARA

NAIROBI - MAASAI MARA 4H (ROAD)

The Mara is synonymous with the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebra surge across the plains, following an ancient circular route through the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem in search of fresh grazing and water. River crossings at the Mara River are among nature’s most dramatic spectacles, as crocodiles lie in wait and the tension of survival unfolds before your eyes.
(This is a seasonal experience.)

Predators of the Plains - Wherever the herds gather, predators follow. Lion prides prowl the grasslands, cheetahs scan the horizon from termite mounds, and elusive leopards move silently through riverine forests, all in search of their next opportunity.

Year-Round Wildlife Viewing - Beyond the migration, the Maasai Mara offers exceptional wildlife viewing throughout the year. Track the Big Five — lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino — along with giraffe, eland, gazelle, hippo, and countless other species across rolling grasslands, acacia-dotted plains, and golden horizons that seem to stretch forever.

MAASAI MARA, LEMEK

Prime Location - Positioned within the Mara North Conservancy, Lemek offers prime access to the Great Migration while enjoying the exclusivity of a private conservancy.

Cultural Heritage - Run by local Maasai landowners, Lemek also provides meaningful insight into the community that calls this remarkable landscape home. Through guided walks, talks, and visits to nearby villages, you gain a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage that underpins conservation in this region.

Hot-Air Balloon Ride - The highlight of your stay may be a hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara plains, departing just before dawn to witness the first golden light spill across the savanna. From above, watch herds traverse the landscape and predators move through the grass—an unforgettable bird’s-eye perspective of one of Africa’s most iconic ecosystems.
